Sundays are for Brunch 🥂
🍽Where I went: Bubby’s
✔️What I got: Fried Chicken & Pancakes
💰What I paid: $25
⠀
🤔What I think:
A group of us happened to stumble upon Bubby’s while walking to the pier on the west side last summer and we knew we wanted to go here for brunch when we walked past someone eating this very dish! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and had just the right amount of breading on the outside so the batter on the outside wasn’t too heavy. The pancakes were cooked to perfection as well and the sweetness of them with the maple syrup complemented the fried chicken.

Nice and Toasty 🇫🇷🍞

🍽Where I went: Mint Premium Foods
✔️What I got: Stuffed French Toast
💰What I paid: $19
⠀
🤔What I think:
When I went to mint premium foods for brunch I saw this item on the menu and felt like I had to try it! This French toast was stuffed with Brie and jam! It was delicious but also super heavy and the addition of the maple syrup on top of the French toast made it a bit too sweet! The fruits were definitely a good addition a refreshing element to the dish. I would recommend getting the maple syrup on the side so you can add as much as you feel is necessary (or none at all), but other than that this was a s delicious and unique meal.

Run your week off right 🥯☕️

🍽Where I went: Bagels & Schmear
✔️What I got: Everything Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese
💰What I paid: ~ $5
⠀
🤔What I think:
Everyone knows there is a lot of debate on the best bagel place in NYC… my personal favorite out of all the ones I’ve had so far has to be Bagels & Schmear. The benchmark of a good bagel is one that can be eaten completely plain and untoasted. I have tried their bagels plain and can confirm they taste amazing even on their own. That being said it only gets better when you toast it and add on a healthy amount of cream cheese..
what are your thoughts on breakfast in NYC.. do you prefer getting a bagel with cream cheese or a breakfast sandwich (or both of them combined)?

So MUSH ROOM in my ❤️ for you 🍄

🍽Where I went: Barbounia
✔️What I got: Wild Mushroon Khachapuri
💰What I paid: $23
⠀
🤔What I think:
For Galentine’s day last weekend, I went to Barbounia with some friends. All 3 of us ended up getting the mushroom khachapuri because we had never had it. This was basically kind of like a flatbread filled with fresh mozzarella, ricotta, truffle paste, sage. It also had 2 slow poached eggs on top of it. It was super decadent and left me stuffed for the rest of the day. Would definitely recommend trying this dish if you haven’t already.

It’s Ice Cream Day🍦🍨

🍽Where I went: Bona Bona Ice Cream
✔️What I got: Chocolate B-Dough
💰What I paid: ~ $7
⠀
🤔What I think:
Since it’s National Ice Cream day, I wanted to share with you my experience at Bona Bona in Port Chester a week ago. Aside from the ice cream itself, the decor of the place made this experience that much more pleasurable because of how thoughtfully it was put together. For the ice cream I got a small scoop of the Chocolate B-Dough (brownies and cookie dough) which was delicious and their charred marshmallow on top of the ice cream made the ice cream so unique! I liked that this fluff was not super sweet and complimented the ice cream perfectly. 10/10 would recommend this place and I will definitely be going back for more!

Sending you a whole Latte Love this Monday!

🍽Where I went: Remi Flower & Coffee
✔️What I got: Lavender Latte
💰What I paid: $5.50
⠀
🤔What I think:
A couple months ago I went to Remi Flower & Coffee. I’m not someone who usually likes flavors added to my coffee but I really wanted to try either the lavender or the rose latte at Remi because it is their specialty. I ended up getting the lavender latte and was pleasantly surprised to find that the flavor of the lavender did not overpower the taste of the coffee itself. If you’re looking for a cute/aesthetic place to grab some coffee, I would definitely recommend checking this place out :)

🥩The steaks are high🥩

🍽Where I went: Le Relais de Venise - L’Entrecôte
✔️What I got: Salad, Steak & Fries
💰What I paid: $32
⠀
🤔What I think:
This restaurant is arguably one of my favorites in the city. They only serve salad, steak (cooked to your preference), and fries for a fixed price of $32. That being said, this steak is cooked to perfection and what really makes entrecôte so special is the sauce that they serve with the steak. If you like steak, I would highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Ramen love with you ❤️

🍽Where I went: Ichiran
✔️What I got: Classic Tonkotsu Ramen
💰What I paid: $18.90
⠀
🤔What I think:
The setup of the restaurant in itself is extremely unique as they have individual booths where you have to order by filling out a form. They use this setup because they want the people who come to their restaurant to be able to focus on the flavor of the ramen without any distractions. Ichiran only serves tonkatsu ramen, and they've clearly mastered it. The broth is rich and perfectly seasoned, the pork is tender and tasty, the noodles are made to your texture preferences (here we went with firm), and of course the egg just adds an extra layer of flavor to the dish. Overall one of the better bowls of ramen you can get in NYC.

🍽Where I went: SoBol
✔️What I got: Kids size Açaí Bowl with Nut Butter
💰What I paid: $5.20 (+ $1.10 for the nut butter)
⠀
🤔What I think:
This is a delicious healthy alternative for those of us who are looking for something lighter! Here’s a little bit about Açaí for those of you who don’t know what it is: Açaí is a super fruit filled with antioxidants! This particular açaí bowl was created by blending açaí, strawberries, bananas and soy milk. It was then topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, a sprinkle of coconut and some honey. I chose to add some nut butter to my bowl as well, but that’s optional! This is a particularly good thing to have on a hot day because it’s SUPER refreshing!

Restaurant Week Recap🍴

🍽Where I went: Pig & Khao
✔️What I got: Pork Belly Adobo, Khao Soi, Jasmine Rice, Ricotta Donuts
💰What I paid: ~$45
⠀
🤔What I think:
For restaurant week this summer I went to Pig & Khao! They were offering dinner for $45 with 3 courses + Rice! The portion sizes were HUGE! In fact I had leftovers for 2 meals.. they also offered a cocktail tasting ($30) where you get a different cocktail for each course.. the cocktails were very unique, would recommend checking them out! Undoubtedly the best thing I ate from here was the Ricotta Donuts 🥰🤩 if you go here, that is a must try for sure!

🍽Where I went: Mei Lai Wah
✔️What I got: Roasted Pork Bun
💰What I paid: $1.50
⠀
🤔What I think:
This is my absolute favorite thing to get in Chinatown. There is always a line outside this place but it moves pretty quick and frankly it’s worth the wait! I haven’t had a better pork bun than this one. The bread itself is so fresh that you can eat it on its own. The pork on the inside has just the right amount of sweetness! I’ve dragged all my friends to this place as well and they all love it as much as I do! I cannot wait to get this again the next time I’m in Chinatown, it’s been way too long since I’ve had one.
