Time Out LA
CicLAvia—Heart of L.A. This free event welcomes bikes, tricycles, skateboards, strollers and basically anything else without an engine to ride a rotating cast of car-free routes. This Sunday’s “Heart of L.A.” event opens 7.5 miles of streets spanning Downtown (including the 6th Street Viaduct), Echo Park and Little Tokyo, among other neighborhoods. Expect music, street performances and food trucks, as well as general whimsy and shenanigans along the way. It goes without saying that you should bike or take the Metro to your desired spot along the route. Until Dec 8, 2024

Influenced to try Community Goods while in LA and so glad I did. Hopefully we’ll see them back in Miami for another pop-up soon 👀 Hands down one of the best iced matcha lattes - added their vanilla syrup + oat milk. The sliders were so pillowy and much lighter than I expected (thankfully) and the sauces!!! Herb Aioli and a sweet and sour hot sauce. The pistachio toast though, was just the cherry on top! Think Nutella but pistachio no chocolate, fresh nuts and honey on a rustic bread. Chefs kiss ✨ I got there super early on a weekday just after opening to avoid any famed hour long lines and had a lovely #slowmorning on their patio 🍵

The nations largest hawker stall = Smorgasburg LA! I like to come here bc it’s always summer vibes and you get all of LA’s most viral food trucks in one place. Gives a major platform to small businesses and gives me a unique experience every time. I come for food, beverages, local artistry and sun. Bring water and hats for sun protection bc it’s a large parking lot and all the asphalt makes it hot there ☀️ 🧢 🧴 💦

Discover the Vibrant Local Art Scene in Burbank
Nestled close to the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles, Burbank boasts a vibrant local art scene that's teeming with talent and creativity. Whether you're an art aficionado or simply enjoy exploring new cultural experiences, Burbank is the perfect place to unlock some hidden gems. Through our platform, Kikihub, we've unearthed some of the best-kept secrets about the art scene in Burbank that you won't want to miss.
Trending Galleries: Must-Visit Spots for Art Lovers
Burbank is home to several standout galleries that are quickly gaining popularity among art enthusiasts. First on the list is the Burbank Art Association Gallery, an essential hub for local artists showcasing a diverse array of artwork, from contemporary pieces to traditional landscapes. This gallery frequently hosts exhibitions that feature the work of emerging and established artists, providing an excellent opportunity to discover new talent.
Another trending gallery that's making waves is the Gordon Howard Gallery. Known for its eclectic mix of sculptures, paintings, and mixed media art, this gallery consistently curates exciting exhibitions. It's a spot where you can experience the artistic vibrancy of Burbank through works that challenge and inspire.
Art Events: Engaging Creative Experiences
The Burbank art scene is also characterized by its thriving calendar of art events. One of the most anticipated events is the Burbank Arts Festival, held annually in the heart of downtown Burbank. This festival features works from over 200 artists and artisans, offering a chance to view and purchase unique pieces directly from the creators. It's a lively event that celebrates the community's artistic spirit and draws art lovers from all over the region.
Additionally, the monthly Burbank Art Walk offers a more intimate yet equally vibrant experience. Taking place on the third Thursday of each month, the Art Walk transforms the city streets into an open gallery, complete with live music and culinary delights from local food vendors. It's a wonderfully immersive way to engage with the local art community and discover new works.
Exploration: Hidden Gems and Local Artists
Beyond the high-profile galleries and events, Burbank's art scene is peppered with hidden gems waiting to be discovered. For instance, the small but impactful Secret Artist Collective operates out of a nondescript warehouse, offering a more underground art experience. This collective is known for pushing artistic boundaries and often features avant-garde exhibitions that are off the beaten path.
Additionally, Granville Arts Center is a versatile venue that combines performance art and visual art. This hidden gem is a must-visit for those looking to experience the full spectrum of artistic endeavors. From live theater productions to art installations, Granville Arts Center is a dynamic space that showcases the thriving creativity found in Burbank.
The Role of Community in Burbank's Art Scene
What sets Burbank apart in the local art scene is its strong sense of community. Local artists frequently collaborate through various forums and workshops, fostering a supportive environment that encourages artistic growth. One such initiative is the Burbank Creative Arts Forum, a group that holds regular meetups where artists can share their work, gain feedback, and draw inspiration from one another.
Moreover, Burbank’s public art projects also contribute significantly to the community spirit. Numerous murals and sculptures can be found throughout the city, often the result of collaboration between local artists and community organizations. These public artworks not only enhance the visual landscape but also reflect the collective identity and aspirations of Burbank’s residents.
In-Depth Exploration of Burbank's Artistic Hidden Gems
Taking a closer look at some of Burbank’s lesser-known artistic locales reveals a rich tapestry of creativity that’s easily overlooked. For example, the quaint Taylor Art Library is more than just a repository of books and artworks; it’s a cozy gathering place for artists and art lovers alike. The library frequently hosts lecture series, book readings, and small-scale art exhibitions, making it a cultural focal point in its own right.
Another hidden gem is the Riverside Gallery Studio, where artist Sarah Kensington offers workshops in various media, from oil painting to ceramics. This intimate studio space allows for one-on-one mentoring and provides a sanctuary for artists looking to hone their craft away from the larger, commercial galleries.
Local Insights: What Residents Love About Burbank Art
Residents and frequent visitors to the Burbank art scene often cite the city's blend of traditional and contemporary art forms as a major draw. From historic murals that tell the story of Burbank’s development to cutting-edge digital art exhibitions, the city's artistic offerings are as diverse as its population.
Frequenters of the Burbank Farmer’s Market will tell you how much they adore the Art Corner, a humble section where local artists sell their wares every Saturday. It’s a great spot to pick up original artworks at reasonable prices while engaging directly with the artists themselves.
Kikihub users have also tipped us off about the lesser-known but highly respected Burbank Fine Arts Federation, which regularly holds juried art exhibitions and provides grants to local artists. This community-driven organization is a key player in maintaining Burbank’s status as a burgeoning center for the arts.
Whether you’re a seasoned art collector or someone just beginning to explore the world of art, Burbank’s vibrant local scene offers something for everyone.
