If you are looking for a secluded island in Miami to spend the day and disconnect, then here is one of my favorite spots! The Picnic Islands are a small group of islands within the city of Miami. They are located just north of Biscayne Island in Biscayne Bay, just east offshore from the Edgewater and Upper Eastside districts of the city. The islands are uninhabited, but several of the group have beaches where boaters and picnickers frequent. They are generally named for the mainland city parks that they are located next to in the bay. The southernmost one is Pace Picnic Island, located off Pace Park. There are also Morningside Picnic Islands Park and Legion Picnic Islands Park located directly off of Morningside Bayfront Park and Legion Park, respectively.

The Argentine-owned establishment features a menu of Italian classics that will please any pasta aficionado, from Crab Raviolotti to Black Linguini Seafood!

Pasta e Basta is a cozy Italian restaurant in Midtown that you already know we love. This time we stopped by to try their new brunch menu and we’re what you need to know 👇🍝 Their menu currently offers a variety of paninis and pasta trios, perfect for sharing and for those who always want a little bit of everything 👀 We kicked off our meal with the Panino Polpette e Mozzarella, but the Trio Romano stole the show. For $69 you get this pasta tower that includes Rigatoni Carbonara, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and Rigatoni Amatriciana. And the best part? You can now customize your own trio for $79. For dessert we had the Nutella crepes and the tiramisu which is always🔥 PS: If you’re brave enough to dine with a toddler they’ve got a kids menu too and a whole lot of patience ❤️

Magdalena Coffee & Houseplants This earthy and airy Edgewater café serves up ethically sourced roasts with a side of Caracas Bakery pastries, croissants and house plants. Suite Habana Cafe Cuban coffee menus have gone largely unchanged in Miami for decades (Bustelo, white sugar, cow milk, you know the stuff). Suite Habana came onto the scene to change this. Owner Nayelis Delisle designed a blend based on memories of her sipping coffee with her abuela in post-revolution Cuba, sourcing beans from Brazil and Colombia to create a dark roast from memory. The espumita here is created with brown sugar, and you can get your cortados, cafe con leches (also iced!) with oat, almond or virtually any other kind of milk. The space is light and airy, filled with a healthy mix of friendly locals, curious travelers and yes, if you’re lucky, Joe Jonas.

Angelina's Eatery & Cafe Angelinas is Midtown’s neighborhood coffee shop, and a rebrand in 2022 brought on both a cleaner look and new menu to the space. Now, you can grab a delicious shakshuka with a drip coffee, or opt for other AM hits like avocado toast and sandwiches. It’s a great spot for a simple Sunday morning, a midweek break, or a quick cortado to go.

Wynwood is getting a disco-themed outdoor roller skating rink this fall The colorful pop-up includes skate rentals and the option to purchase cocktails and food. Starting Thursday, September 12, don your neon and head to Wynwood Skate, the only roller skating rink in Miami’s booming arts district. Nestled in the back of Wynwood Marketplace, the large outdoor rink is decked out in a colorful checkerboard pattern à la 1970s disco clubs. Adjacent to the Sip & Pickle pickleball courts, it’s encircled by street art-covered shipping containers and a handful of covered cabana lounges. Similar to Sip & Pickle, Wynwood Skate is open to all ages and skill levels. Since it’s located inside the Wynwood Marketplace, you’ll also find plenty of food and drink options, plus other on-site activities like ping pong, shopping from local vendors, DJs, big screen TVs for screening sports games and more.

Eleventh Street Pizza serves up two kinds of pies that both are stellar representations of their pizza genres. While a monster slice of NYC-style pep does a great job soaking up late-night drinking, the finest things here are thick Sicilian slices, big towers of dough covered with cupped pepperoni, wild maitake mushrooms with caramelized onions and a Provencal number with roasted red onions, confit garlic and pepperoncini. Time Out tip: The Japanese milk bread garlic rolls are both sweet and savory, so much so that you’ll probably want a second order for dessert.

AUTHENTIC INDIAN RASOI We recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Rasoi in North Bay Village, and it was an exceptional experience! We started with the Samosas, which were crispy on the outside and filled with a deliciously spiced potato mixture. The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, with tender pieces of chicken that melted in my mouth. The Garlic Naan was the perfect accompaniment, soft and flavorful. The service was top-notch; the staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I also appreciated the variety of vegetarian options available, making it a great spot for everyone. Overall, Indian Rasoi offers a delightful dining experience with authentic flavors and excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Indian cuisine!

Pastis Miami is all the French we need in Wynood. Tucked away in its own little outdoor paradise they offer a range of classic french dishes with my favorite being the Pâté de Campagne. Never settle for anything less than an evening of great company, profiteroles and martinis, ma chère. 🍸

Pizza Tropical at Gramps This tiny pizza window at Gramps makes one of the best New York-style pizzas in Miami. The best decision you’ll make after too many of Gramps’ famous Moscow Mules is a slice from Pizza Tropical. The second? Ordering it topped with sliced mushrooms (they don’t do the canned kind) and fresh basil. Pizza Tropical is only available for takeout, but that shouldn’t keep you from taking a fresh-baked slice home.

La Natural This Little River hotspot is renowned for its sourdough pizzas. The restaurant’s minimalist approach to ingredients allows the quality of each component to shine, making every bite a testament to their culinary dedication… What a creative and unique experience. This Bib Gourmand winning restaurant exceeded our expectations. The decor and overall vibe of the place feels like a vacation and the menu definitely caught our attention. But the flavors sealed the deal! You’ll find unique dishes you wouldn’t normally see at a pizza joint like papaya with anchovy, Japanese sweet potato with brown butter, and grilled onions with tahini. Then came their famous sourdough pizzas! The texture? PERFECT. They’re also known for their delicious all natural wines.

Itálica Midtown is an absolute gem in the heart of Midtown! 💎 The cozy ambiance transports you straight to a trattoria in Italy. The warm lighting, brick walls and aroma of garlic instantly make you feel at home. The menu is a love letter to classic Italian cuisine, with homemade pastas that are simply divine. The tagliatelle alla bolognese is rich and decadent, while the gnocchi is pillowy soft perfection. Even the simplest dishes, like the caprese salad, burst with fresh flavors. The wine list offers a great selection of Italian varietals to perfectly complement your meal. And the service is impeccable - the staff truly makes you feel like family. Whether you’re craving an authentic Italian experience or just an incredible meal, Italica delivers on all fronts. It’s a must-visit for any Miami foodie! 🍝😋

ZURI is a true gem in the heart of Wynwood! As soon as I stepped inside, I was transported to Morocco through the vibrant colors, intricate tiles, and VIBRANT atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel like royalty. The food? Absolutely divine! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the tagine, couscous, and kebabs, and each one was more delicious than the last. The flavors were rich and bold, with a perfect blend of spices. And don’t even get me started on the cocktails - the signature “Zuri” drink was a refreshing blend of mint, ginger, and citrus. The highlight of our night was the live music and belly dancing performance - it was mesmerizing! Overall, ZURI exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in Miami.
