Coral Gables’ talk of the town is Maíz y Agave, a gorgeous three-story restaurant taking over one large corner on Miracle Mile. Here, the new concept promises to take guests on an immersive journey into the heart of Mexican cuisine and culture. Choose from three different locations to enjoy a meal: El Patio on the first floor offers a cool, calm ambiance, Los Balcones on the second floor showcases artwork by talented Oaxacan artisans inside a chic dining room, and La Azotea on the rooftop features upbeat tunes, lush greenery, and plenty of room to spread out. The expansive menu highlights the restaurant’s sacred staples—corn (maíz) and agave—with dishes like fresh guacamole topped with lobster al pastor, aguachile de camarón, tacos, and a fall-off-the-bone pork shank served with Istmeño-style mashed potatoes. Even better, Maíz y Agave offers live mariachi performances three times a week, adding an extra layer to the experience. You’ll feel like you’re in Oaxaca without having left Coral Gables.

You’ve probably heard of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens before. But what do you think I meant when I said that its gardens were designed much like a home? Well, Colombian-born architect, Diego Suarez, separated the garden into different sections and created a unique atmosphere to each location. That gave the feel of being like an outdoor home! Some of these “rooms” included the Rose Garden, the Maze Garden, the Garden Mound, and more. Make sure to visit Vizcaya, it is amazing Italian-inspired villa!

Tinta y Café You can find everything we love about Coral Gables in Tinta y Café, which also has a location in Miami Shores. It’s quirky, local and deliciously Cuban, with a cozy midcentury vibe that’s both moody and light-filled. It’s also pretty laid-back and you can grab a legit Cuban coffee during the lunch rush without having to fight several elderly gentlemen, as well as delicious sandwiches that put a new spin on classics. Note: this is not the place to treat as your satellite office; there’s no wifi, and laptops are politely declined. This is, however, the perfect place to catch up with an old friend or take a break from the hustle.

Legit Dentist Recommendations in Miami? Got quoted for Invisalign $5900 and never in my life since I was a kid have I ever had a dentist say I needed any kind of work (never had a cavity / have been going to the dentist for cleanings regularly etc). Now at 37 being told I more or less needed braces for the first time ever was odd to say the least Then they told me it wouldn’t be covered by insurance and when I went to my insurance company they said part of it would be. I’ll be getting a second opinion elsewhere - any recommendations ? Thx

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy donuts 🍩 The best donuts in Miami include simple classics, over-the-top creations and even decadent savory treats. 1. The Salty Donut These donut wizards churn out fluffy, sweet creations that are stuffed, injected and topped with wonderfulness ranging from creamy guava to crispy bacon. The nationwide expansion from its original Wynwood location means the long lines have largely been eliminated (good news for those who need a sweet fix and quick). What to choose? The guava and cheese is uniquely Miami, ideally washed down with a Cinnamon Cereal Milk Latte. (The Salty has a stellar coffee program, too.) 2. Max’d Out Donuts Pastry chef Max Santiago, self-proclaimed “Miami Donut King,” helped found The Salty before leaving in 2017 to start his Fort Lauderdale-based Batch the Cookie Company. In 2022, he started making some of Miami’s best donuts from a strip mall spot in North Miami Beach. The 52 flavors at Max'd Out range from the classics to the wildly creative. Take the OG Original Glazed, a 24-hour raised brioche dough bathed in buttermilk-vanilla-bean glaze. We're partial to the Cafe Con Leche: another brioche variation topped with cinnamon-espresso dust, coffee glaze and a cream cheese spiral. 14871 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami Beach 3. Mojo Donuts & Fried Chicken Guy Fieri gave it two flaming thumbs up on his ode to calories, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and for good reason. Everything your inner child ever wanted to stuff on (and in) a donut gets stuffed on and in donuts here, from Fruity Pebbles to flan. Plus, fried chicken! Come hungry, leave semi-conscious.

Stop by Amal, when you’re in the mood to dress up. The menu focuses on modern Lebanese dishes created by Chef Wissman Baki. This is a great spot to send your Mom with her group of amigas chismositas, because it’s one of those restaurants where you want to picar y probar un poquito de todo! Think dips, cold and hot mezze, skewers, and more. Plus, they can continue their salidita with a few drinks after their meal at its rooftop bar, Level6. The space is so freaking gorgeous. We honestly wouldn’t mind our house looking like this. Imagine, sandy interiors with earth tones like rose and terracotta. They’ve also incorporated small palm trees throughout the restaurant to give it a touch of Miami. We could live here because it’s so pretty but also because the food is fresh and tasty.

This is a diner for Miami. And yes, it includes a ventanita. If you’re going with one other person, the best seat in the house is at the bar. If it’s a group we’d sit inside at one of their booths or outside for people-watching. You can pretty much stop by Chug’s at any time of the day for an all-day breakfast experience. It’s also a great option for Saturday and Sunday. This is the meal you deserve when craving a hearty breakfast, it’s also a great spot for a work meeting. Order the best Cast Iron Pancake (these may take up to 25 mins to come out of the kitchen), slow-cooked in clarified butter and warm maple syrup with an order of Beltran’s Bacon, thick steak cut bacon with smoked maple syrup. Chug’s is open Monday – Wednesday from 7:30 AM – 3 PM, Thursday – Saturday from 7:30 AM – 10 PM, and Sunday from 7:30 AM – 7 PM.
