Spot the Fountain Show at Klyde Warren Park Whether you’re playing with your furbaby in the dog park, grabbing a bite from one of the food trucks, or attending a Saturday morning fitness class, there’s plenty to do at Klyde Warren Park. Klyde Warren Park was designed by award-winning landscape architect Jim Burnett, principal of The Office of James Burnett. His design created a sense of discovery when moving from “room” to “room” throughout the 5.4-acre Park. The sustainable landscaping includes 37 native and non-native plant species and 247 trees, transforming a former freeway to a beautiful urban oasis. While away the afternoon on the lawn, and don’t miss the Nancy Best Fountain show at 12:04 p.m. and 7 p.m. every day.

Various Small Fires After establishing itself as a Los Angeles staple for the last 12 years, Various Small Fires opened its third location in Dallas in 2022. For owner Esther Kim Varet, a Trinity Christian Academy alum, this was a sort of homecoming. Varet, who is Korean, opened her second location in Seoul in 2019. That move proved to be savvy, as the international art fair, Frieze, now has an annual event there. The small downtown Dallas storefront brings a more global sensibility to the city’s curatorial makeup. This is a good place to take the pulse of the broader art market. A lot of the artists VSF has represented go on to be art stars.

10/10! This was such a fun experience! 🙌🏾💐 Pur Noire is a black owned urban winery that just opened its second location in Dallas! The first location is in Houston, so this is a great activity if you’re in either city! ✨ The vibe is elevated but still relaxed, so it’s a great spot to unwind or meet a friend! You can grab a glass to sip or do a customized tasting to try a few different wines! They also have a free wine club for true wine lovers! This gets you exclusive perks, like access to the members only tasting room, and discounts on bottles, events, etc! I definitely recommend! 💕

Most people know it for brunch, but they also have a really great dinner menu and a good vibe during the week! 🥂 They also launched new food items, and as always, everything was spot on. Some of my favorites were: 🦞 Fried Crawfish Ravioli 🍝 Pontchartrain Pasta 🥖 Crawfish Bread 🍜 Birria Ramen 🍹 Bacardi Mango Chile Fever Parking is free during the week! There’s a run club called runitup that meets here on Tuesdays! It’s free to join, but it does get packed, so if you want a more chill vibe, come any other day during the week! ✨

WEEKEND COFFEE || DALLAS 🌞 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: if you’re staying at The Joule hotel near the famous Dallas eyeball or visiting that area, Weekend Coffee is one of the closest and most convenient coffee shops in the area. Street parking! Go in the morning or early afternoon. 🍒 THE VIBE: clean, artsy, colorful. It was a great vibe. We just grabbed and go but it was hotel lobby vibes. 🍒 PRICE: ~$7 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes. Overall Rating: 10/10 - I’ve been wanting to stop by Weekend Coffee for the longest and it did not disappoint! - Their hot Spanish latte was impeccable! It was the perfect temperature and the perfect amount of sweetness. Coffee was robust and the condensed milk added a depth to the drink that was enjoyable. - The baristas were really helpful and nice. I’m not sure I would study here but definitely a good place to sit and chat over a cup of coffee. They do close at 3pm just FYI!

Turkey sandwich, Encina Encina’s brunch burger is stealing a lot of attention these days, and its blue corn pancakes are a smash hit. But can I put in a good word for the most boring-sounding dish on the brunch menu? There’s so much good detail in this turkey sandwich. The little bit of avocado, the arugula and peppers for depth of flavor, bread that complements the rest. Oh, and bacon. Everything about this construction is oh-so-right.

🌟 Colorful New Indoor Playground in DFW: bb pinata in Dallas🌟 Why we love it: ❤️ BB Piñata is a super cute and colorful new indoor playground in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas! ❤️ Kids will love the soft play area, imaginative play houses, plus an area with coloring pages and toys! ❤️ This spot felt super clean and chill on a weekday morning. Good to know: -Admission is $18.99 for an all-day play pass that allows you to come and go! - Socks are required for kids and adults! If you or your kiddo forget them, they have socks available for purchase. - I’d say this spot is best for kids ages 2-7 who enjoy imaginative play and don’t need huge climbing structures to get their energy out. My 4 year old daughter LOVED it and was not ready to leave after two hours. - There was plenty of street parking here, but it is metered. On a weekday morning I only payed 85 cents for two hour parking, but it’s probably a bit more on weekends. - Hours are Monday-Friday: 8:30 AM - 6 PM, Saturday: 9 AM - 7 PM, Sunday: 9 AM - 6 PM

I’m back for the second time at this hidden gem! It’s a fast-casual spot by day, but at night, the speakeasy part opens up. This speakeasy is totally unexpected, and once you’re inside, they give you a menu book with the history of the place, details to the artworks, and their meanings, along with a drink menu. They host “Ode to Nepal” live music nights on Wednesdays with local Nepali artists and will also be starting a Nepali Bazaar outside the restaurant every Sunday afternoon, promoting Nepali handmade products! So, tag a friend you’d like to go with! Taipo (Behind the Door)

Kid Friendly Movie Theater with a Playground in DFW: B&B Theatres🌟 Why we love it: ❤️ B&B Theaters has a “Screen Play” theater just for kids! 🤩 ❤️ Little ones can get their wiggles out in an indoor playground before the movie starts. There’s a play structure with slides and climbing plus a toddler area. ❤️ The seats fully recline so it’s super comfy! ❤️ Current family friendly movies offered in Screen Play include Despicable Me 4 and Inside Out 2. Both are great! Good to know: - You can enter the theater 30 minutes before the movie to enjoy the play area. Once the movie starts and the lights dim, it’s best for kids to stay in their seats as the play area is not lit. - We recommend purchasing tickets in advance as these screenings sell out more quickly than others since they have less seats. - Visit on Tuesdays to save money on tickets! PERRY’S STEAKHOUSE 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: a classic steakhouse franchise across the US. There’s about 6 locations in Texas. I love how they have pictures of their food on the menu. This place is hyped up for a reason! 🍒 THE VIBE: upscale, very fancy, and classy! Large interior, lots of seating, super busy! 🍒 PRICE: ~$65 + $15 tip (my meal I ordered was the sea bass and steak and tater totter bites) 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Overall Rating: 10/10 - I am so happy I finally got to try this place after hearing so many great things about it for the longest! - This place is hyped up for good reason. The sea bass I had SO much flavor. More than I would’ve imagined. It had corn and this red pepper sauce on the bottom. I don’t even know to describe it except that I inhaled this dish so quickly bc it was that good. The fish was cooked perfectly. - I LOVED the steak bites and was the perfect amount of steak. My friends thought it was okay but I think it’s because they already ordered a steak for their entree. I thought it was perfectly good and a good hearty dish since my fish was light. - I tried the other side dishes as well and my favorite had to be the corn brûlée!!! Omg it was so good I can’t even begin to describe it. It was slightly spicy and full of flavor. You should skip out on the lobster mac and cheese it was pretty disappointing. The au gratin potatoes were phenomenal too! I also tried the sriracha Brussel sprouts and they were good too! - Our server was very attentive, patient, and informed us appropriately about anything we asked. I truly had a great experience!
