Hello, I'm planning on visiting Miami in January for a rest/relaxation-type trip (not a partier; not a drinker). I'll be alone, and I'm a young Asian female (visiting from Canada). I'll be staying in South Beach. Should I be super concerned about safety as a solo female? I won't be out late at night, but I might have a couple of earlier mornings (~6AM) where I have to walk a few minutes to get somewhere. I keep to myself when I travel (not interested in meeting new people).

Pastis Miami is all the French we need in Wynood. Tucked away in its own little outdoor paradise they offer a range of classic french dishes with my favorite being the Pâté de Campagne. Never settle for anything less than an evening of great company, profiteroles and martinis, ma chère. 🍸

Whether you’re active on Depop or a regular at the Magic City Flea, there’s no denying the magic of finding a nostalgic treasure that speaks to you, and it’s this very magic that inspired Memento Assemblage. If you are looking for a secluded island in Miami to spend the day and disconnect, then here is one of my favorite spots! The Picnic Islands are a small group of islands within the city of Miami. They are located just north of Biscayne Island in Biscayne Bay, just east offshore from the Edgewater and Upper Eastside districts of the city. The islands are uninhabited, but several of the group have beaches where boaters and picnickers frequent. They are generally named for the mainland city parks that they are located next to in the bay. The southernmost one is Pace Picnic Island, located off Pace Park. There are also Morningside Picnic Islands Park and Legion Picnic Islands Park located directly off of Morningside Bayfront Park and Legion Park, respectively.

Lincoln Road Farmers’ Market Before big-name stores and theaters commanded Lincoln Road, the pedestrian mall was well known for its weekend farmers market. Over the years, this small operation has grown from a few tables on the eastern end of the strip to a large fair that stretches nearly the entire length of the road. Find produce, housewares, fresh-cut flowers and specialty items like artisanal bread and homemade jams available all throughout. Though open year-round, the farmers’ market is at its most magical when it coincides with the Lincoln Road Antiques & Collectibles Market, which happens every other Sunday between October and May. When to go: Sundays 9am–6pm

MIAMI’S BEST RESTAURANT WITH “AMBIENTE” Where the vibe is more important but the food is still good The iconic NYC staple, Pastis, expanded its presence from the Meatpacking District to the vibrant neighborhood of Wynwood. The restaurant stays true to its New York roots, offering the same menu filled with classic Parisian bistro-style dishes and an incredible ambiance that won’t make you feel like you’re in Miami. You’re heading here for a chic lunch or dinner and sitting at their gorgeous outdoor patio decorated with ceiling fans, red patio umbrellas, and twinkly lights. We’d start with some drinks (of course), if you’re a spritz person looking to relax, start your meal with their St. Tropez Spritz made with St. Germain, lemon, aperitif, sparkling wine, and strawberries. But if you’ve had a long day (or week) then kick off your meal with a tiny Le Petit Pickle martini. As for the food, we like to start with a few hors d’oeuvres for the table. We usually go for the Tuna Carpaccio with lemon vinaigrette, Escargots with garlic-parsley butter, Onion Soup, and Crispy Artichokes with garlic aioli. Moving on to the entrées we love their Chicken Paillard with almonds and picholine olives, and we always love to get an order of the Moules Frites with white wine and garlic for the table (don’t forget to dip the bread in the sauce). If you still have a little room, the grand finale is the airy Profiteroles, delicately filled with velvety smooth vanilla ice cream, and generously drizzled with warm chocolate sauce.

Art Deco Historic District Miami Ice cream cone pastels, geometric lines and curves, chrome accents and decorative fountains are just a few characteristics that distinguish the iconic buildings of Miami Beach’s Art Deco Historic District. Miami has the highest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world, and their preservation has saved the South Beach skyline from becoming a canyon of condos. Amazingly, these buildings were nearly destroyed by developers in the early 1970s. Today, a number of the best Miami hotels, and even some South Beach clubs, have maintained their beautiful façades and historical designation.
