THE ROOFTOP GUIDE
The Cantor Roof Garden Bar is located on top of one of the world's most famous museums: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum itself is, of course, a thing of beauty, located smack in the middle of Central Park and giving visitors access to beautiful works of art. The Cantor doesn't fall far behind, as it offers stunning views of the park and the surrounding skyscrapers, as well as a large and lush rooftop garden with park benches and comfortable tables to sit at. You can also sit down on the lawn if you're so inclined. Wine by the glass, house-made lemonade and specialty cocktails make up the drink menu, but you can also find sandwiches and salads in case you get hungry. Open during the warmer months, access to the rooftop is available to all museum visitors. And filled with a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere, it is a great spot to bring children and enjoy the lush views.

Discover Local Nightlife Secrets in NYC’s Financial District
The Financial District in NYC may be known for its towering skyscrapers and bustling daytime activity, but when the sun sets, a whole different scene emerges. Behind the corporate façade are hidden gems and secret spots where locals gather to unwind. Kikihub users frequently share insider information, and we're excited to bring you the best local nightlife secrets this area has to offer.
Hidden Hotspots
The Financial District is brimming with hidden bars and lounges that offer an unforgettable nightlife experience. One of the most coveted hotspots is Dead Rabbit, a classic favorite known for its extensive cocktail menu and two-floored ambiance. On the first floor, enjoy a lively pub experience with an array of craft beers and whiskeys. Climb the stairs to the Parlor on the second floor, where a more intimate setting awaits, complete with expertly crafted cocktails that tell a story with every sip.
Trending Bars
For those searching for what's trending in the Financial District, Kikihub users frequently mention The Capital Grille as a top pick. With its upscale vibes and premium selections, it's a go-to for finance professionals looking to relax post-office hours. The bar's mixologists are renowned for their creative spins on traditional cocktails, ensuring you experience both familiarity and innovation in each glass.
Rooftop Escapades
Nothing says NYC nightlife more than a vibrant rooftop bar offering stunning cityscape views. Pier A Harbor House is a rooftop gem that provides a panoramic view of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. Apart from the breathtaking vistas, the atmosphere here is unbeatable – it's a perfect blend of laid-back and sophisticated vibes. Sipping on an exquisitely mixed cocktail while overlooking the iconic Statue of Liberty is an experience that shouldn't be missed.
Another rooftop hotspot is the Overstory bar located at the top of 70 Pine Street. This relatively new establishment is already making waves with its chic decor, extensive wine and cocktail list, and relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. Locals appreciate Overstory for its serene environment and the killer sunset views which make it a prime location for an after-hours escapade.
Music and Entertainment
The Financial District is home to several iconic spots where live music and entertainment thrive. One such location is Schilling, a Vienna-inspired tavern that turns into a lively spot for acoustic sessions during weekends. Locals rave about their vibrant music scene which includes everything from jazz nights to contemporary acoustic performances.
Lovers of live jazz should also make a point of visiting the Fraunces Tavern, which dates back to the 18th century. This historical establishment offers more than just history – it’s also a venue for live jazz performances that attract both locals and tourists. Nothing can quite compare to enjoying a themed cocktail in a bar that's rich with history, all while the sounds of live jazz fill the air.
Party Like a Local
If you’re looking to party like a local, head straight to Killarney Rose. This beloved neighborhood bar is famous for its unpretentious vibe and welcoming crowd. It’s the perfect place to start or end your night, with an extensive selection of beers and classic cocktails. Kikihub users often highlight the resident DJ who knows how to keep the crowd electrified and dancing into the early hours.
Another local favorite is The Full Shilling Pub. This Irish pub is a cornerstone of the Financial District nightlife scene. Known for its lively atmosphere, excellent selection of ales, and occasional themed nights, it attracts a diverse crowd that includes everyone from Wall Street financiers to college students looking for a fun night out.
Local Insights
According to local insights shared on Kikihub, the key to a great night out in the Financial District often lies in knowing where to go and when. For instance, early evenings at Stone Street Tavern are best for enjoying smaller crowds and snagging a spot on the outdoor patio. Meanwhile, if you're up for some late-night bar hopping, Nassau Street offers a selection of bars that are open until the early morning hours, allowing you to extend your nightlife experience.
Another hidden secret is that some of the best cocktail deals can often be found at the overlooked spots. Kikihub insiders recommend checking out The Cauldron NYC, a themed bar that offers interactive cocktail-making experiences. Not only do you get to enjoy a drink, but you also get entertained in the process – making it a double win for a night out.
Nearby Nightlife Adventures
Daring night owls may also choose to venture a bit beyond the Financial District to explore nearby high-energy neighborhoods like Tribeca and Chinatown. Tribeca's Canal Room is known for its live DJs and dance floors. Meanwhile, Chinatown offers hidden speakeasies such as Apotheke, where mixologists craft experimental cocktails that cater to adventurous palates.
Finally, The Seaport District just a stone’s throw away offers an eclectic mix of waterfront bars, lounges, and entertainment venues. Kikihub users recommend visiting the Malibu Farm, a rooftop bar known for its organic cocktails and views of the Brooklyn Bridge. Each of these areas offers a distinct flavor, providing endless options for night-time revelry.
