Time Out Miami
Suite Habana Cafe Cuban coffee menus have gone largely unchanged in Miami for decades (Bustelo, white sugar, cow milk, you know the stuff). Suite Habana came onto the scene to change this. Owner Nayelis Delisle designed a blend based on memories of her sipping coffee with her abuela in post-revolution Cuba, sourcing beans from Brazil and Colombia to create a dark roast from memory. The espumita here is created with brown sugar, and you can get your cortados, cafe con leches (also iced!) with oat, almond or virtually any other kind of milk. The space is light and airy, filled with a healthy mix of friendly locals, curious travelers and yes, if you’re lucky, Joe Jonas.

The OH
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Kan Sushi, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the modern and sleek decor, which set the tone for a sophisticated evening. The staff was warm and welcoming, presenting me with a comprehensive menu that offered a wide range of traditional and innovative sushi options. We opted for the all-you-can-eat menu, which proved to be an excellent value. The sushi was consistently fresh and expertly prepared, with standout dishes like the Hot Cheetos roll and crispy shrimp roll. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, with the staff happy to answer questions and make recommendations. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it an ideal spot for dates, group outings, or just a quick bite. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Kan Sushi in Brickell and can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings!

For food enthusiasts, Coconut Grove is a small paradise. While many tourists flock to the well-known restaurants along Grand Avenue, locals often whisper about Groovy's Haven. Tucked away in a charming alley, Groovy's Haven serves mouth-watering seafood dishes that rival any major Miami restaurant. Don’t miss out on their signature stone crab claws during the season.

Though it remains under the radar, this garden showcases an incredible diversity of tropical plants, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts.
If you're into water activities, locals often suggest renting a kayak from the Coconut Grove Marina. It's less crowded and provides an intimate experience compared to the more commercialized waterfronts. Paddle through the calm waters and enjoy the scenic beauty of Biscayne Bay. You might even spot a manatee or two!
Art and Culture
When it comes to art and culture, most people head straight to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which is undoubtedly spectacular. However, local insights suggest you also check out The Barnacle Historic State Park. This hidden historical gem offers a quaint glimpse into the life of one of Coconut Grove’s earliest pioneers, Ralph Munroe. The house, built in 1891, provides a unique perspective on South Florida’s history.
For art enthusiasts, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival is an annual event that should not be missed. Featuring work from local and international artists, it's a vibrant celebration of creativity. However, if you happen to miss the festival, the neighbouring galleries, such as the FrameWorks Gallery, constantly display incredible works by local artists.
Niche Shops and Boutiques
If you love shopping, especially discovering unique items, head over to CocoWalk. While it's popular, the real surprises lie in the side streets around it. This legendary bar offers a wide selection of craft beers and exotic cocktails. The laid-back setting often features live music, making it a great place to unwind after a long day of exploring.
If you’re looking for a more eclectic nightlife experience, head to Barracuda Taphouse and Grill. It's a favorite among the locals for its relaxed atmosphere, extensive beer menu, and delicious pub food. The Taphouse also offers pool tables and arcade games, adding to the fun and laid-back vibe.
Hidden Gems Beyond the Main Attractions
