Y’all know I love me some Keith Lee, but he got this one wrong for sure! 🫣 Roots Southern Table is an amazing southern style restaurant that mixes old school recipes with a modern twist! They have a rotating menu that features incredible creations and it’s 100% worth a visit! 🔥 Everything tastes like it belongs on the food network! You’ll find classic southern dishes + new seasonal creations, and baby they almost had to roll me out the place 😂 This isn’t a spot to grab and go! Everything is made fresh to order and you have to taste it when it comes right out of the kitchen! 🙌🏾 I could list my favorites, but it would probably be the whole menu haha just tell the server what you like and let them recommend some dishes to you! 🍗 This place is intimate enough for date night but also a great place for a family or group dinner! ✨

FRISCO OKTOBERFEST The 5th annual Frisco Oktoberfest includes authentic Oktoberfest music and dancing, a variety of local shops and businesses, traditional German cuisine, stein hoisting competitions, keg rolling contests, stein races, an official brat eating competition and plenty of beer. Festivities are taking place Saturday, October 5th from 11am-9pm at The Star! ✨🦋 Brand new, 6 acre, $40 million dollar butterfly themed art park called Kaleidoscope Park! The park will is completely free with public programming year round like farmers markets, concerts and films. There is also a massive children’s play area, a dog park, performance lawn and shaded promenades and plazas. The star of the show though is this 3,400 pound art pieces that changes colors all day and into the night, called ‘Butterfly Rest Stop’ created by Janet Echelman. It’s made up of 791,788 knots tied by hand. It’s very stunning during the day and incredibly romantic at night. ⏰ HOURS // Open daily from 6am - 11pm

I definitely get why people really like this spot! 🔥 JOA GRILL is a top notch Korean BBQ spot in Dallas that really surprised me when I went! The food, drinks, and vibes were excellent and it was perfect for a nice date night! ✨ This is an elevated Korean BBQ concept, so your server cooks you meats for you (if you’d like) and they have a nice menu of specialty items to go with your main course! 🙌🏾 If you like Korean BBQ, then I recommend trying the TASTE OF JOA. It’s made for 2 people and comes with plenty of meats to share! 🥩 If you want something other than Korean BBQ, I highly recommend the OCTOPUS & the MUSSELS! They were both amazing! 🔥 This is a great spot for date night or a fun group dinner! It’s really a gorgeous spot! 🙌🏾

We checked out the new Crimson Coward Crimson Coward is a Nashville hot chicken place, and wow, the spice levels are no joke! Mild was perfect for my kiddo, and medium was plenty for me. The Crimson sandwich was perfect—I loved the slaw. The fried onion had a lovely light batter, and the fries had perfect seasoning and came in a large portion. You can’t bring a kiddo here and not get the mac and cheese. It’s so velvety, creamy, and delicious.

Nature Brew 🤍 this new boba shop has some of the best and most authentic milk tea in the city. It’s also a lot more inexpensive compared to other shops. The jasmine green milk tea was super creamy and 50% sugar was perfect. Def gonna try their tapioca pearls next time 😁

DAN’S BAGELS || TROPHY CLUB 🥯 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: sourdough bagels made by a couple who has moved down from Connecticut/New York area. Dan was selling bagels out of his house during the pandemic and it was a hit so he opened up his own shop! They are actually looking for someone to franchise with them because they have outgrown this location! 🍒 THE VIBE: grab & go bagels with some outdoor seating outside. I recommend going before 10am on a weekend because it gets very packed, lines out the door all the time. 🍒 PRICE: gifted 🤍 but last time I came here for 1 lox bagel, 1 regular bagel with cream cheese, 2 to-go bagels and it was less than $25! So cheap. 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Already have! •••• Overall Rating: 11/10 - The story behind this bagel shop is just such a cute little story it’s hard not to love! The staff is super nice and they work SO fast for how much traffic they have. - I’m a huge fan of their classic lox and nova lox bagels. They are huge portions I would recommending sharing half with someone else or save the other half for a snack for later but wow it’s filling! - The sweet bagels are amazing. I’ve had the cinnamon sugar and blueberry pie bagels and WOW. The perfect sweet treat. - I’ve been here with my mom and my friends and everyone is in love with the bagels and service here. Dan and Jennifer really know how to run their business and they are damn good at it too! The quality is always consistent and customer service is 10/10. Highly recommend trying these bagels out! - Also, don’t be like me and read the sign on how to store these bagels if you take them home. Since they’re sourdough they ferment as time goes on (it takes 3 days to make these). So if you bring them home, freeze them right away!

I’m back for the second time at this hidden gem! It’s a fast-casual spot by day, but at night, the speakeasy part opens up. This speakeasy is totally unexpected, and once you’re inside, they give you a menu book with the history of the place, details to the artworks, and their meanings, along with a drink menu. They host “Ode to Nepal” live music nights on Wednesdays with local Nepali artists and will also be starting a Nepali Bazaar outside the restaurant every Sunday afternoon, promoting Nepali handmade products! Mid-Cities Greek FoodFest This year we have added loaded gyro fries to the menu, as well as baklava cheesecake - no calorie counting allowed! Our popular saganaki booth is located outside the main tent so everyone can watch their favorite flaming fried cheese. In addition to the famous Ouzo Slushie, The Opa Bar will feature three signature cocktails this year: the Aegean Mojito, the Athens Mule and the Ouzo Fizz. Satisfy your sweet tooth with some baklava or loukoumathes (Greek honey puffs), capped off with a Greek coffee or frappe. Check out many made-in-Greece items and food products at the Marketplace. For those curious about the Greek Orthodox faith, there are tours throughout the weekend of our Byzantine church. The bookstore carries literature, jewelry and other a faith-related items. Yes! •••• Overall Rating: 9.5/10 - After seeing post about this super cute bear-themed cafe, I was so excited to come here! - Must try dishes are the calamari salad, wild mushroom risotto (best selling item), and the ingeolimi shaved ice! - The calamari salad had so much flavor and I loved the snap of the boiled calamari. The salad had a zesty dressing and the calamari was just seasoned very well. - The risotto had a strong truffle taste so if you like that it was so good and hearty to have in the rainy weather! - The shaved ice was actually my greatest surprise! It had mochi squares and red beans that were perfectly sweet with the shaved ice. - Of course you have to try their bear ice drinks! The coffee is on the stronger side with no sugar so just indicate if you want a flavored/sweet latte. I loved it though because the coffee flavor was great. The colorful drinks were so fun too! - A cute place with hearty and variety of food. Definitely check it out.

Shine Performing Arts Center presents Mary Poppins One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show runs July 12 through July 28. Performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm. Reserved seating tickets are $26 for adults and children. Children under the age of 3 are not permitted.

Here are a few things you should know before you go! The prices are really good for the amount of food you get. First of all, if you’re not a huge eater this might not be the spot for you - but if you can put back some food then go hungry and have yourself a feast. At lunch, Korean BBQ is $25, dinner is $39. If you want to add on unlimited sushi it’s just $10 more, then if you want to add on shabu too, it’s just $5 more. If you’re new to Korean BBQ (or hot pot) the servers there are really helpful, just let them know it’s your first time and they’ll walk you through everything you need to know.
